 Good day

I've been trying to achieve the following with your plugin for many hours:

In the article but also in the categories, I would like to have an image with a width of 300px. In the modal window I want to have an image of no more than 900px. Thats all. I chose the econa-fields variant.

In the General tab, on the page with the 3 sizes, I left everything on default except for the automatic edit. I want everything to be automatic. I don't want the user to have to deal with parameters.

From the 3 values Small Medium Large in the Display Option, I have activated the value on small. And set to large for the Modal function.

The result is always the same. The article image always remains the same size (900px or so). But it should definitely only be 300px wide.

I'm starting to ask myself whether, after almost 20 years with Joomla, I'm too stupid to configure it, or can this plugin simply not do it?

So I ask for help.
Sorry, is Joomla 4.3.1

Hi Rene,

The sizes you configure in Econa affect the actual size of the image, not the display size. So even if the image is resized to 300 pixels for example it still may be displayed larger or smaller depending on your template's CSS.
The second thing you might need to check is the display options. Note that there are display options for each view. So just make sure that you have selected the correct sizes for the "Article" view.

If none of the above helps, please create a new private ticket and provide administrator credentials so I can have a look.

Hi Lefteris

A very quick reply, thank you.

I sent you 4 images to check my configuration.

I think I need to set a flat size of 300px or 200px width for all content images. Would be very nice if Econa could do that, via config. This would give you the option of using thumbs in the content (teaser images) without additional CSS code.

Hi Rene,

If we apply a fixed size to images we may break many templates which are using responsive design.
Your template should be using a simple CSS rule:
img { max-width:100%; height: auto}

This will make all images displayed in the maximum available size but not exceeding the image actual width.
Finally, note that images in Modals are a complete different story. Most modals have their own styles for images.

I also want to note that any changes you make to the sizes configuration are not applied to previously uploaded images. Images are resized when you upload them and you save the article.

Your configuration seems correct. If it is possible, please create a new private ticket and provide administrator credentials so I can have a look.

Regards
