Hi Leteris!

We are working on a site where we have some large images that need to be uploaded using the Econ a custom fields plugin. Those images are sometimes as big as 3060 x 4080 pixels. We have set the plugin to open the 'crop' window when an image is uploaded so we can crop the image with a set 1:1 ratio.

The problem is: We can not see the entire image in the browser window. Only when we zoom out using the browser (Chrome) we eventually see the entire image so we can decide how to crop it. But this is not a very convenient workflow.

Can you have a look at this?

I think maybe adding a mac-height of 100% to the div with the class 'econa-cropper-container' would help. When we use that (in the inspector) we can then scroll up an down to see the rest of the image. But maybe it would even be better if the whole image is in the view. That does mean scaling it down, but I don't think that's a problem.

Hope you can figure something out.

Econa 1.8.7
Joomla 4.3.3
PHP 8.1.21

Hi Jip,

I don't see any difference when adding max-height to the econa-cropper-container div. Can you please provide your browser details?

I just tried Firefox (115.0.3 64-bits on windows) and have the same issue there.

Jip JJ Jonker
When I just tried it in firefox I noticed the div.econa-cropper-container had both a width and a height. But trying in in Chome this div only had a width and no height/ Setting the height to 100% (or max-height) made it possible to use the browser scroll to get to all parts of the image. Without it I can not scroll upward to the top of the picture.

But I think it would even be better to avoid scrolling and fit the whole image to the window. If that is possible.

I will take a look at the cropper API and if that's possible I will try to implement this. But in any case, you should get scrollbars in all browsers, I am not sure why this is not working in Chrome.

Jip JJ Jonker
I CAN scroll down in both Chrome and Firefox. But not up...

Lefteris Kavadas
OK now I got it. I think that the issue is caused by the core Joomla modal styles. I will try to fix this in the next update.

Hi Lefteris, do you have an ETA for the new version?

Lefteris Kavadas
Hi Jip,

No, unfortunately not yet. I am still working on this and other issues.

Hi Lefteris,

We experience a similar issue with the Image Gallery (Shwotime). When we add a gallery in an article and open the gallery the popup windows sows the images and settings, but when we want to chenag the thumbnail settings to 'Wall' and want add some brakepoint this windows does nog show added bereakpoint because the windw is not scrolling. We heen to use the browser zoom-out to be able to see all breakpoint.

I would be great if you could fix this in a next release.

Kind regards,
Jip

Hi Jip,

Which editor are you using? For me it works fine both with TinyceMCE and JCE (latest free edition). I tested under Joomla 4.3.4 using Firefox in MacOS.
Probably we have something different on our setup that's why I am not able to reproduce the issue.

Regards

Jip JJ Jonker
We are on Joomla 4.3.4
We use JCE editor PRO 2.9.50
Browseer: Chrome 117.0.5938.132
OS: Windows 11

I noticed that the first time we add a galery to the article body this problem is not occuring.
We can select 'Wall' at the option 'Layout' and add options and they are visable / scollable.

But when we switch to the tab 'Details' inside the popup window and add one or more images and go back to the last tab the responsive option are only showing the first three options and it's not scrollable anymore.

So it looks the scrolling works until an image is added (and the image details are shown on the right?)

Does this help?

Hi Jip,

I just sent you over email a link to download the development version of Showtime Image Gallery.
This version contains a fix for the scrolling issue as well as some Joomla 5 compatibility updates.
Note that you might need to clean your browser cache after installing (not required when the regular update is released).
Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Hi Lefeteris, I have not yet reveived the e-mail with the link. Could you try again?

Jip JJ Jonker
Hi Lefteris, I got the link and tried the development version And this did solve both issues. Excellent!

Lefteris Kavadas
Hi Jip,

I am glad that everything is fine now. Can you please clarify, what's the second issue?

Jip JJ Jonker
We had a scolling issue in the crop window (the issue I mentioned first in this ticket) and also a scolling issue with the wall settings of a galery I added to this ticket last monday. Both seem to be solved now.

Lefteris Kavadas
I am not sure about the second issue since we have made no changes to Econa.
If it has been resolved indeed, then this was a conflict with Showtime Image Gallery.
In any case, please let me know if any of the those issues occur again.
