Hi! It would be great if we could somehow use the image scale / crop function of Ecoan as a standalone tool. So when (our clients) upload an image tot the server it can be cropped (and saved to a specific set size) without the image being 'attached' to an article or an other CMS part. So a simple, user-friendly stand alone image resizer / cropper.

Of course it would be best if site admins prepare images before upload. Also JCE does have some tools for cropping and resizing bur the are not very easy to use. So we are looking for a very user friendly way to let users resize and scale images. May adding this to Exon would make it even better ;-)

Practical use: Let's say we have a newsletter template with a header space to add an image,. this image needs to be a specific size (mayb 600 x 300 pixels) and compressed. We upload an image using the media manger (Joomla or JCE). Then we somehow use this new tool to scale this image and save it with a set compression factor.

Just a wild idea ;-) Or maybe you are aware of tools available that can do this?

Kind regards,
Jip

Hi Jip,

We are in the process of preparing the new major update of Econa which will be fully Joomla 5 compatible. This would be a really nice feature but I am not sure if it can be implemented. I have seen some new media actions plugins that are introduced in Joomla 4/5. I will definitely look into this!

Regards
