Hello Lefteris,

I'd like to know if it possible to use an intro image while using Econa as a Custom Field.
I have a testsite where I use a Econa Custom field, Your text to link here...
The image of the car is done with Econa as a custom field, the other two images are set as an intro image in a Joomla article.
I'd like the cars to be just as the other two images so it has to be an intro image.
I hope I'm clear in my explanation.
Thanks!

Hi,

I don't really understand your question. You can use both intro image and custom field. They are two different fields with different output. Econa can also add the image editor to intro and full article images.

Please clarify what exactly you are trying to achieve.

When I edit an article and the editor appears there is a possibility to have Custom Field Tabs above it. In my Custom field group I use an Econa field to upload an image. This goes fine.
Now I want to use this image as an intro image.
I've disabled the tab with the intro image and article image because I want to have just one tab for my client.
I hope this is explained a little better.

No, if you have disabled the intro image tab then you cannot use the intro image. Intro image and custom fields are different entities. You can combine them but you can't create a connection between them if this is what you mean.

Yep, thats what I mean. To bad for me :-(
Thanks!

What exactly are you trying to achieve? What's the reason you hide the images tab? Maybe there is an other way to achieve what you want.

The reason I hide the images tab is to make it simple for my client to update his website.
Therefore I use Custom Fields. When he makes a new article he uses this extra tab (Custom Fields) to upload an image gallery, set prices for his product, etc. He will type his product (US Cars) text in the editor and make use of the "read more" function.
On the frontend the first view will be a category blog view where the intro image appears (the US Car) and some intro text.
To make it as simple as it can be I want all the extra fields like the intro image, the image gallery, all the specs of the car, etc, in just one tab.
Thanks!

You can create a layout override for the article form and make it look as you wish. All you have to do is disable the images tab and add the code that renders the intro image field into the custom fields tab.

Oké, thanks! I will try :-)
I'm familiair with template overrides but never done this for the backend.

Many developers are not aware that overrides work also in administration! It's a great tool for customising the backend.
Let me know about this.
