Hey guys,
Love Econa, been an extension thats been needed for Joomla for a long time.
I only have one request for future version, and honestly this is one area where most Joomla developers fail to understand.
When we use Joomla, we can use Joomla articles/categories for many different purposes in a single website.
Your plugin for Joomla default images tab only allows us to set image resize options for ALL joomla categories/articles.
WHAT WE NEED.
We need to be able to override the global plugin setting, and set custom/different image resize settings PER CATEGORY (another tab added to the Individual Category administration screen.
THE REASON WHY
I personally try to use the least amount of Joomla extensions as possible to keep the administration of Joomla easier for my clients, so I like to use Joomla articles/category's for different purposes on a CATEGORY basis.
EG:
1) Category Name: Blog - In the category of Blog, i need to set different image resize options for the blog view, as these images need to be different sizes to images that are added to articles that are in other categories.
2) Simple Product Portfolio - Category Name: Portfolio - In the category of Portfolio, i need to set the image resise options to be different to the blog layout, as these images will most definitely need to be a different size than the blog layout views.
3) I am sure you can come up with loads of examples....
This doesn't need to be an option that is turned on after installing Econa, but giving us a toggle option in the main Econa system plugin to turn on 'Category Images Override Tab' would probably be the best way to do this.
Guys, again i love Econa, but the above is what I would love to see, and once we get 'Jommla Extra Fields' hopefully in version 3.7, more and more people will look to use core joomla articles/categories and use extra fields over installing multiple 3rd party extensions to achieve what they need. Lets face it, the less extensions we install the better...especially the less components that all have different admin layouts/admin interfaces, all makes it harder for my customers and new joomla users to start using Joomla.
Anyway, please let me know if you can do this and if you want to chat further, just let me know.
Thanks,
