Hello, thank you for the amazing Route66 that has made the Joomla SEO a piece of cake! I would like to ask a question about the Route66's sitemap. In my multilingual site, the Google Search Console says that my canonical URL is not actually example.com (as provided by the sitemap), but example.com/en/. And so it won't index the example.com as it's only a redirect and Google encourages me to fix it. That makes sense, but is there any way to change that in the sitemap? To change the URL from example.com to example.com/en/? Thank you.

Hi Jindrich,

If you are using the core Joomla multi-language features then you can remove the language prefix from your URLs for the default language. The relevant option can be found in the "System - Language Filter" plugin.

Regarding Route 66, it just reads the menu items you have created to generate your sitemap. Just make sure that you have setup your multi-language site properly. Just enable the administration module named "Multilanguage status" to see if everything is setup correctly.

Finally, keep in mind, that sitemaps are used to indicate your important content. Google and other search engines will crawl your site even if you don't provide a sitemap.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards
