Disk runs out of space

On my website I've installed Route 66 on Joomla.
Everything is of the latest version (Jan 30, 2020).
My problem; The folder /media/route66/scripts/ gets filled with 1000s of js files, which is okay, but it gets to a total of > 2 GB
And the files are way older than the 15 minutes I have set the cache time to.
Is there some setting I have overlooked?
Should the Route 66 component clear some of the older files by itself?

Hi,

Is there a link to your site? Is this a big site?

There was an issue in an older version of Route 66 causing this. You can empty the folder and clean the Joomla cache and Route 66 will create it again . This time it shouldn't get that big. Just make sure that you are using the latest version. If you run into the same issue please let us know again.
