SEO tab doesn't work; JCE editor doesn't load; with Route 66 SEO on Joomla 3.6.4

 Hi; just installed Route 66 SEO and found that not only doesn't it work, it also breaks a lot of other things.

1) it breaks my home page, which is suddenly looking for the component com_magazine which I am not using on this installation.

2)The JCE editor no longer intalls.

I've looked in the console and don't see javascript errors that could explain this. For the home page issue I thought it could be a conflict with sf404seo, so i turned off all of the plugins having to do with URL creation in Route 66. Unfortunately, that didn't help.

I would really like to get this to work. Any suggestions please?

Hi,

Route 66 does not do anything with your homepage or other plugins. Since you have problems installing other plugins then this is probably a server setup issue. But the first thing you should really do is update your Joomla installation. Version 3.6.4 was released around 4 years ago and have several known security issues. So the first thing you have to do is update to the latest stable Joomla version (3.9.18 at the moment). Just make sure you backup your site before updating just in case anything goes wrong.
