Manny Munoz
 Dear support team,

I've created a sitemap using Route66, leaving all default settings, and this is the link, but nothing is listed:

https://www.nazaudy.com/index.php/component/route66/sitemapindex/1?format=xml

Am I doing something wrong? In other sitemaps that I've used in the past, the articles were always listed

Please advise at your earliest
Thank you

Hi Manny,

Rpute 66 creates a sitemap index. A sitemap index contains links to actual sitemaps. If you open the links of the sitemap you will see the actual listings.
Just submit the sitemap index URL to google search console. It will discover the sitemaps and index your site.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Lefreris

For example, I have this sitemap created with a different extension, that doesn’t show all the articles I have, but it does show some: https://www.nazaudy.com/component/osmap/?view=xml&id=1&format=xml

I don’t want to submit the Route66 sitemap to the Google Search Console just yet, because when I click on it (https://www.nazaudy.com/component/route66/sitemapindex/1?format=xml) it just doesn’t show any articles at all

I’m not sure if that is a expected behaviour? Does it have to list your articles?
Thanks again for your great patience!
Manny

Hi Manny,

As I explained before this is the expected behaviour.
The URL https://www.nazaudy.com/component/route66/sitemapindex/1?format=xml is a sitemap index which contains two sitemaps:
https://www.nazaudy.com/component/route66/sitemap/1/content?format=xml
https://www.nazaudy.com/component/route66/sitemap/1/menus?format=xml

Those are the actual sitemaps URLs containing the entries. So all you have to do is just submit the the sitemap index URL (the first one) to Google and it will find the actual sitemaps it contains.
Of course, if you are happy with your current sitemap extension you may keep using it instead of Route 66.

Thanks so much Lefteris for your swift response and clarification! :)
Will definitely submit Route66 sitemap instead

Best Regards,
Manny
