Denis
I'm just rebuilding our company website from the ground up and wondered after launch whether Route66 offers 301 to redirect old URLs to the new?

Hi Denis,

Route 66 offers 301 redirects for multiple Joomla URLs that lead to the same page. If your site URLs have changed completely and you need to redirect old URLs to new you can just use the Joomla redirects component.
Can you please provide an example?

Firstly, Many Thanks!
I never knew Joomla had a built-in (it doesn't appear in the Components > pull-down in the left panel in Joomla 4)
So thanks for that.
The new site will have similar URLs, however I have a lot of articles in categories that just need the folders redirecting - let me give you an example:
The current site lists 29 articles under /website-tips/
The new site will list these under /tips/website/
So rather than individually putting the 29 old URLs in, is there a way I can just specify a wildcard? something like /website-tips/* should forward to /tips/website/*

Hi Denis,

If the last part of the URL remains the same (article ID and alias) then I am almost sure that Route 66 will handle this (even if it's not designed to do this).
The optimal solution is to add a wildcard but this is something that it needs to be done in your server configuration (Nginx or Apache) and requires some server setup skills.
The most easy way is to add the 29 URLs to the redirect component.
