Does Route 66 help me deal with these? I have some REALLY weird URLs that Google has indexed (like https://www.deserttechappliance.com/?cookie_13382877ce1523a6e31efe0053e0ecbe=accepted for instance). I don't really understand canonical links completely, how they come about, or how strange ones like this happen, nor how to fix them easily. I know this strange link goes to the main home page (just by following it), but don't know how Google came up with it, or how to fix it. Hoping Route 66 has a way of doing it.

Hi Ian,

Route 66 adds a canonical link to all pages. Canonicals help with different URLs leading to the same content. However, this is an indication for search engines, it doesn't mean that Google won't index those URLs. You will still be able to see those URLs in search console.
You can download the free version of Route 66 and see if it helps with those URLs. Note that it will take some time for Google to see the changes.

Regards
