Hi,
Can you add the webp conversion for the thumbnail and carrousel images.
And to be perfect an option for converting the already existing gallery.
This is very important for performance and the user XP.

Thanks

Hi Nicolas,

Yes, this is already in our plans. Thank you for your feedback!

Hi,
Any news on this function because webp is the new jpg now we can't still deliver website using jpg on 2024 ;-)
Thanks

Hi Nicolas,

You are right, we are a bit late but we are currently working on it since it requires layout changes and we do not want to break any existing websites.

Hi,

I was hoping news with v1.6.0 but it doesn't seems to implement webp or mayby it's not listed in changelog (I don't have tested this version yet by myself)

Hi Nicolas,

Unfortunately we didn't make it to include this feature in 1.6.0 release. We were really busy migrating our website to Joomla 5.1.

We are also preparing the next major updates for all our extensions which will be Joomla 5 native (no need for the compatibility plugin).

Econa is almost ready and the rest extensions will follow. If i have the time I will try to add WebP support for Showtime Image Gallery in the next update (prior to the major v2.0.0 release).

I hope you understand.

Hi,
We just see 1.7.0 make it with WebP (yeah !) just few days after the end of our subscription. Can you do something for us ?
Thanks

very very nice of you ;-)

Have you any roadmap to share about this specific extention ? We were glad to support you if there is something nice to come.

Hi Nicolas,

Apologies for the delay with WebP – I’ve been occupied with our new extension, CommentBox. Have you had a chance to check it out?

As for Showtime Image Gallery, we’re considering several enhancements, though we don’t have a set roadmap just yet. We do, however, plan to release a major update (v2) that will be Joomla 5 native. Additionally, we aim to modernize and streamline the JavaScript to make it more lightweight.

We’re also looking to introduce more layout options, update the lightbox scripts, and possibly include some new ones. Lastly, we’re exploring the addition of highly requested features, such as front-end views.

If you have any suggestions or features you’d like to see, please let us know – we’d love your input!

Best regards

Nicolas OLIVIER

Thanks, indeed native J!5 is very important for us. For new projects we skip the b/c plugin for performance reason. Before you point out this I don't have see this "issue" for us :-/

Thanks for your work, at least we are going to update and offer webp to all our old projects.

I don't have specific idea for now because I'm not a huge fan to include IA in content component (creating a world where IA's streamlined content is eated by IA for their LLM for creating more streamlined content etc ) but AI generating the alt/description text is an idea.

Component front view for displaying galeries could be a thing
