Dear Firecoders team,

First of all, I would like to commend your Econa and Showtime components. As I was experiencing issues with uploading a large number of photos, I purchased a one-year subscription to the Showtime image gallery. However, it seems the problem has not been resolved. I am attaching a screenshot of the issue I am encountering.

Additionally, I am facing a problem with Econa when creating articles. If I set the intro and main images and later change the article category, the images are deleted, and I have to re-upload them. Has this issue been resolved? I would like to upgrade Econa if it has been addressed.

Best regards, Petar

Hi Petar,

Thank you for your kind words and for recommending our extensions. We truly appreciate your support! Let me address the issues you’re facing:

1. Showtime Image Gallery

From the screenshot you shared, it seems your server is hitting a limit—most likely related to PHP’s max_input_vars. In the latest version of Showtime Image Gallery, we introduced a workaround for such cases. For reference, we have customers managing galleries with tens of thousands of images successfully.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Increase PHP Limits: Contact your hosting provider to increase the max_input_vars setting on your web server.
  • Enable Pre-Save Images: If increasing max_input_vars is not an option, you can enable the "Pre-Save Images" feature in Showtime Image Gallery, which was introduced in the latest version. This should help bypass the issue.

Please let me know if this resolves the problem for you!

2. Econa

Regarding the issue with images being removed when changing article categories:

Unfortunately, this is a limitation due to how Econa uses custom input fields, separate from Joomla’s core image inputs. While this ensures compatibility and avoids interference, it also introduces this behavior.

We will revisit the core Joomla functions related to category changes to see if any improvements can be made. If this limitation is addressed in a future release, we will certainly let you know!

Thank you again for reaching out, and I’m here to assist further if needed.

Best regards

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I have enabled the "Pre-Save Images" option, and I will let you know how it works once I upload a larger number of photos. Thanks again!
