Hello, thank you. The idea is indeed that images are displayed in random order in an article/gallery.
An extra "standard" button like Show images random <yes/no> at the gallery display options would be great.
Have been reading the documentation for overriding Joomla display options but not that clear/helpfull. Surely must be simple if one has done it before.
I am quite new to Joomla 3.x and in 2.x I never had the need to override something except for some language files.
Which file showtime.php must be copied to the newly created directory templates/template_name/html/plugin_fields_showtime/ ?
The structure on the website is a bit different: /plugins/fields/showtime/fields/tmpl/ not /plugins/fields/showtime/tmpl/
Where to place that code? In the newly created php file?

The location of the override depends on the context. Are you using the gallery as a custom field or inside the article text?

Thank you again for your reply. Initially I used the gallery as a custom field. I removed that one now so I have to reproduce it.
It is not that urgent.
The image galleries that I am setting up are for a photographer. It must be most simple for her to upload images.
I am now setting up categories/galeries and creating a module for each gallery and then load each gallery in an article.
This because I want to be flexible and to create menus here and there.
I came to your gallery by accident and especially on tablets it has the best performance and view.
With some added features like the random display I think you have a winner and the price you ask for a membership is a bit on the low side.
Can you leave this one "pending" for now? I may have some other suggestions like Justified Grid to the Wall display settings and in the Lightbox view thumbnails with size depending on the image - not all the same size? Now I have one thumbnail where a persons head is cut off.

The next update of Showtime Image Gallery will introduce a new option for the module allowing you to display automatically the gallery of the current article page. This way you do not have to create all those modules and categories. We are already working on this feature.
We will also try to find a nice way for adding the option for the random thumbnails order. However, I can also help you with the override if you want. Just create a new private ticket with admin credentials and FTP access.
Any other suggestions are always welcome.
Finally if you like the extension please post a review at the Joomla extensions directory.
