So far this is the most user friendly image gallery, but this is because competition is not very strong ;)

I have few suggestions.

+ Right now, I can't create a gallery from images that already exist on the server so I have to reupload them which takes up extra space on the server. It would be nice if showtime gave us the option of working with regular "joomla file" system by creating directory for each gallery named by gallery alias instead of using wordpress date folder structure. This way I can get those images from media manager, and insert them one by one into the article if I need to.

+ Also, folder into which showtime is uploading images is inaccessible by Joomla media manager

+ If I want to set intro and full article image, I can't use ones which I've already batch uploaded through image gallery field, but I need to re-upload those two images.

+ There should be "Use Existing" button in the gallery custom field like there is when I want to insert gallery directly into the article through editor button.

+ And the final one, you should make a module which can detect if current page has an article which contains a gallery field and display that gallery, otherwise stay hidden. This way I can use Joomla module system to display my article gallery exactly where I want.

This is how I imagine a perfect workflow, hopefully you will implement some of those features.

Hi,

Regarding your suggestions:

1. Even if we add the ability to choose existing images for a gallery, you will not save any space on your server because the gallery images need to be resized. We can't know if the source images are used elsewhere, so we have to create copies and resize them, otherwise we might modify images used somewhere else.

2. This is also related with 1. The Joomla media manager has an option for setting the default images directory. If you set it to "media" you will be able to browse the folder where Showtime keeps it's images.

3. It's the same with 2. But again, having the same image file is risky. If for example you delete the gallery, files are gone. For large sites it's impossible to remember this kind of information.

4. That's a nice one, indeed. I will mark this as a feature for future implementation.

5. This functionality exists already in the module. Just set the "source" option to "dynamic".

I really want to thank you for the feedback you have provided. Any other suggestions or ideas are welcome.
